Life for a street animal here in San Blas is brief and brutal.  Through our aggressive Spay/Neuter clinics over the past two years, we've been able to sterilize over 450 animals in the region and we have provided medicine for all of them, plus hundreds more.  The clinics are free to the community, but they are not free for us.    Please help us in our fight to alleviate suffering here.   All money goes directly to pay for clinics.        ¡Muchas Gracias! Thank you to every one. Yowza! What can I say! It was a HUGE success and we made enough money for our upcoming San Blas clinic, March 10th through March 13th, with a little extra set aside for our fall clinic. This was the first ever “Dinner/Benefit" for our clinics here, so there was a lot to learn. And learn we did. I want to thank everyone that attended and that drank Killer Margaritas with us and that bid on items at our crazy auction. I especially want to thank the wonderful people that helped to make this night happen. It took a lot of work to throw a party of this size, and I could not have done it without the following volunteers: SHIRLEY SHORTRIDGE and BIL LIE MCMILLAN were the stars of the kitchen, and ROXANNA SUMMERS pitched in by making the crustini for the appetizers. My son CHRISTO, and his lovely girlfriend OCEANA, had no idea what they were getting into when I asked them to “help” at my party. He was our bartender, and she worked hard with DAN WARD and NANCY VEJVODA serving dinner and drinks all night. LAURA MACKIE also worked hard as a server Sunday night, and was also our main event promotion person, selling lots and lots of tickets in the preceding weeks. (He was pretty drunk, as you likely noticed, but managed to help us to raise a lot of money…….) Thank you BILLY BOB, and RISA MARA for managing to get through the auction. (I was having some ankle pain and had to go home pretty early or I would have taken this on myself.) I thank everyone that stayed for the auction for both your patience and for your generosity. We’ll be more professional next time. Thanks to LOU and RHODA for getting everyone up and dancing! They sounded great, as always. And finally, a big big thank you to PEDRO and to EVERYONE at WALA for allowing us to take over the place!
